Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Limited. With his tireless efforts Insecticides (India) Limited today stands at a top line of Rs 988 crores (net sales figure of 2015-16) and boasts of more than 9 leading brands of the industry, two technical synthesis plants and 5 formulation units and a dedicated NABL accredited in-house QC labs and R&D Centre recognised by DSIR within just 14 years. In 2013 came a major development in his quest for establishing a world class research unit to focus on development of new agro chemical molecules. IIL’s joint venture with Japanese research giant OAT Agrio Co., Ltd. led to the establishment of an independent state-of-the-art R&D centre in Bhiwadi to focus on inventing new agrochemical molecules for international requirements. Rajesh Aggarwal is today 45 years, with more than 20 years experience in the agro chemical arena with modest qualification of graduation in commerce and a diploma in marketing. The leadership of the Rajesh Aggarwal, and his encouraging the entrepreneurship in each and every employee and team spirit, has lead IIL to set up a record with the lowest employee turnover in the industry.

Dr Kaushik Banerjee is a Principal Scientist from the ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune, India. He is a recipient of Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FNAAS) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London. He is the President of the India section of AOAC INTERNATIONAL and a member of the Scientific Panel of the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on methods of sampling and analysis. He is also an empaneled trainer on agrochemical residue analysis for the International Atomic Energy Agency. Dr Banerjee has widely published in peer-reviewed journals and offered numerous presentations in international meetings and conferences around the world. His current area of research predominantly focuses on the development of LC-MS and GC-MS based residue analysis methods for the estimation and management of food and environmental contaminants. He is also pursuing research on mass spectrometry based plant metabolomics.

Dr. J. C. Tarafdar an aluminus of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, IARI did his Post Doctorate from Institute of Agricultural Chemistry, Germany. Dr. Tarafdar has developed an in-vivo filter paper technique for phosphatase estimation. His developed biological phosphorus (Bio-phos) fertilizer is now promoting by State Government of Rajasthan. He is the first in the world successfully developed biosynthesized nano nutrients and nano induced polysaccharide powder for agricultural use. Dr. Tarafdar has traveled and lectured widely in many countries and published 323 research articles in national and international journals which include 27 book chapters and three books. He has four patents and 73 new organisms in his credit. Dr. Tarafdar received many awards most notable are Sukumar Basu Memorial Award for the biennium 1993-94, IMPHOS-FAI Award 2006, Prof. S.K. Mukherjee Memorial Award 2008, Prof R.S. Murthy Memorial Award 2008, Bharat Jyoti Award 2011, Glory of India Gold Medal 2012,Prof. R. V. Tamhane Memorial Award 2013, Dr. Kartik Oaron Memorial Award 2014 and Dr. N. S. Randhawa Memorial Award 2014. Dr. Tarafdar is a Fellow of the most prestigious Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Germany and DAAD, Germany. He is also a fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2003), Indian Society of Soil Science (2002) and Indian Society of Salinity Research Scientists (2003). He has guided seven Ph. D. and 16 M. Sc. Students.

Dr. Santanu Mukherjee, an alumnus of the INRES, University of Bonn, Germany was appointed as a guest scientist in Agrosphere Institute (ICG-4/IBG-3) of Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, Germany. He is currently selected as a visiting researcher in Savannah River Ecological Laboratory, University of Georgia, USA and will work on DOE funded projects. His current and past project focuses primarily on the fate (degradation and sorption/desorption) and mass balance of three contrasting pesticides in bioenergy residues (biochar and digestate) based soil mixtures for biopurification (biofilter) systems, a low-cost ecofriendly technology for prevention of point pollution. Dr. Santanu has developed novel biofilter mixtures for biopurification of contaminated water and investigated interactions of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) with organic contaminants. He has actively participated in different national and international conferences and other scientific meetings and workshops, presenting his research, and has received accolades from organizations across the globe like UNESCO/China (The Great Wall) Fellowship-2011, “EU COST Action TD1107” grant-2012, “GRIFA (The Italian Research Group for Pesticides and the Environment)” grant -2013, “EGU (European Geosciences Union) Scientist Travel Award -2014 and 2016” , WE Heraeus Foundation grant- 2015 and many more. He is the honorary board member of “SADHNA” society along with the member of American Geophysical Union and IANCAS. He is an ICAR-International fellow. Dr. Mukherjee has visited 15 countries so far for academic meetings and invited talks. He has published many articles of international repute so far in journals and books and serving as an invited reviewer of many international journals like STOTEN, AE&E, IJEAC, EJSS etc. He is currently appointed as a guest editor of a special issue of the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health.

Dr. T.S. Thind (Tarlochan Singh Thind) after taking his school education from village Said Pur, District Kapurthala, Punjab did B.Sc. from Govt. College, Chandigarh in 1972. He received M.Sc.(Botany) and Ph.D from Saugar University, Sagar (M.P.). In 1978 he joined as Asstt. Plant Pathologist in Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and became Plant Pathologist in 1988 and was elevated to the post of Senior Plant Pathologist in 1996. Dr. Thind served as Professor and Head, Department of Plant Pathology, PAU, Ludhiana from January, 2001 till February, 2012. After this he became Additional Director of Research in PAU in March, 2012. After superannuation in July, 2012 he joined Scientist Emeritus, ICAR in August, 2012 at PAU, Ludhiana. Dr. Thind is specialized in rational and need-based use of fungicides in plant disease control. He did pioneer work on fungicide resistance in plant pathogens in India and has reported several cases of fungicide resistance development for the first time in India and worked out its management strategies. He is National Advisor for the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (India Chapter). Dr. Thind has several awards. To name a few, FAO Consultant in Cape Verde (W. Africa) in 1992, Pesticides India Award, Prof. M.J. Narasimhan Commendation Medal, Prof. M.S. Pavgi Memorial Award, Fellow of Indian Phytopathological Society, and recipient of Fulbright Fellowship for visiting University of California, Davis, USA in 2001 and 2005. Dr. Thind has published more than 140 research papers in leading journals, 6 books and 3 technical bulletins and guided several M,Sc. and Ph.D students. He has widely travelled person e.g Australia, England, New Zealand, Israel, France, Germany, Italy and Malaysia for the cause of subject.

Dr. Dipankar Patra had graduated from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya (BCKVV) with a Hons in Agricultural Chemistry. He obtained his M.Sc. & Ph.D, Degree in Agrochemicals from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. In addition to that he had also successfully completed PG Diploma Marketing Management from Institute of Management Studies (IMS), YMCA, New Delhi. He has over 21 years of experience in Agrochemical R&D, with 16 years in OECD GLP Labs. He had successfully faced number of GLP audits conducted by Netherland, German, Swiss GLP monitoring Authorities from Europe as well as NGCMA, India. He had started his Industrial career as Section Head, Environment Fate & Metabolism Studies, at Jai Research Foundation (JRF), one of the oldest & leading GLP Contract Research Organization in India. He had worked with Advinus Therapeutics Pvt. Ltd., a Tata Enterprise, in Analytical Chemistry as well as Project Management Departments. He was the approved Radiological Safety Officer by Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) for Jai Research Foundation & Advinus Therapeutics Pvt. Ltd. Before joining to Hi-Stan Biosciences Pvt. Ltd. (a Coromandel AG - Group Company) he was working in Krish Biotech (a Krishi Rasayan Group company) as Technical Director and had developed a State of Art GLP Facility at Kalyani. Earlier he had worked with Agribusiness Multinational Syngenta AG in their Goa R & T Centre. He worked as Lab Manager & Member of Test Facility Management team for their GLP Test Facility. He played instrumental role in the development of Environmental Fate laboratory at JRF & Analytical Product Chemistry Lab at Syngenta. In his current assignment, he is developing another Environmental Assessment Laboratory at New Bombay & targeting towards DSIR & OECD GLP certification of the same. He authored around 15 National & International Research Papers & Technical Articles and is a member of several national & international professional organizations viz., International Society for Biodegradation & Bioremediation, UK, Indian Science Congress Association, India and Society of Pesticide Science India etc. He also worked with various technical institutes as a member of advisory team, such as Technical Committee of BITS, Goa. He bagged several Awards & Medals in his academics as well as professional career, latest being Young Achievers award from Syngenta Global for developing their GLP Test Facility at Goa.
